This is not an area I really follow so I hope this isn’t a silly question. I heard rumors that some candidates, actually specifically Bernie Sanders but a few others as well were asking their donors to split large donations into smaller increments so that it looks like they have more grassroots support than they actually do. I’m sort of on the fence as to whether or not I believe that and I’m at present much more interested in other aspects of the 2020 campaign, but could you shed some light on that? Is that a thing? I didn’t really thoroughly read the FEC warnings Sanders received last time (I sort of skimmed them on my way to reading about Deutsche Bank) but it looked like his campaign had done basically that or that donors had exceeded the limit by indiscriminately sending him too many small donations. Basically, what is that, how does it impact a campaign and how can I find out about that?
