The Apparent Myth of Female Humanity

Men may write history but they certainly don’t read it

Rights for people assigned female at birth were hard won. And now they’re being stripped back. Expectant mothers in a lot of countries including the US no longer can expect to survive a difficult pregnancy. And of course, it has never been the case that survivors of sexual assault, abuse, or rape male or female could expect their attacker to see justice. This just hasn’t ever been the case. The closest anyone’s ever gotten to justice regarding rape is that in early medieval Iceland survivors of rape could personally castrate their attackers. But if they didn’t it wasn’t considered a rape. So, still not perfect.

Deeply stupid and angry men online have tried to make a bogeyman out of feminism, but feminism is and was about giving women just basic human rights. It’s just about things like not being murdered, not being assaulted, being able to feed yourself and your family. But of course, to these men equality for others feels like persecution for them.

See, the basic issue here and the thing that they’re truly upset about whether or not they’re willing to articulate it is that women can survive and even thrive without men. Women at this juncture in history, whether it remains that way or not, can potentially live a life that does not involve…
