I'm really looking forward to seeing this movie. I did get pretty lucky myself. Like most woman I have been both sexually harassed and assaulted, and of course I dealt with the revolting comments and demands from men I'd just met for various sex acts and threats when I didn't let them into my bedroom, come home with them, or hand over my phone number the moment they "asked." But after I left the country I managed to find a decent man pretty quickly.

Sexism exists across the world and I find it pretty hilarious that this article has only been up for 22 hours as of writing and already some guy has entirely missed the point (and apparently, if he's not lying about his profession is really poor at it). But I think American men might be some of the most violent and myopic. With the exception of one guy all the men I had trouble with were Americans. My partner is not. I've been with him almost nine years now.

I would recommend to any heterosexual American woman who is serious about a long term relationship that she find some excuse to go abroad. Decent men do exist. They're just not generally American. (And American men, any of you who want to tell me I'm wrong, you're just proving my point.)
