I need to make a correction with context. It has been brought to my attention that the exit polls were a bit off and that actually it was 47% rather than 53% of white women who voted for Donald Trump. That’s a bit better but it is still a plurality. Putting that up against black women’s 94% vote for HRC those six little percentage points really don’t make much of a difference. As one of my girls on facebook said, “47% is still a plurality.”

And the other piece of this is that exit polls record only the opinions of people willing to talk to the pollsters. That may not seem significant at first but what it means is that a notable percentage of white women did not — for whatever reason — want to say how they voted or were afraid to do so. Now, if you’re doing that because your abusive husband is literally right there, okay I get it and I’m not going to rag on you about leaving his ass. BUT, I fail to believe that was the case for that many women. I think a lot of you just chickened out. So great that you voted for HRC but you need to own your power more. Black women are in a lot more danger than white women when they voice their opinions and yet we see them marching up in sky-high stilettos to do their civic duty. White women, we CAN make a significant positive and lasting difference, but not if we’re shivering in fear. Stand up and be counted. Seriously, ladies, I refer to my makeup as my war paint. Get it together.
